Liverpool might be without Steven Gerrard for at least 4 weeks following the captain’s injury while on international duty with England. In exchange, they are set to benefit from an amount of £500,000 as a pay-out from the English FA.
That piece of news broke out on Friday afternoon as the issue was confirmed. It has been reported that the money paid to Liverpool will rather come from an insurance scheme instead of coming directly from England’s FA.

That insurance scheme previously saw Spurs and Arsenal receive compensation for injuries picked up by Defoe and Walcott respectively. The case between Liverpool and England’s FA has perhaps been settled now through this pay-out deal.

Coach Fabio Capello also expressed his worry concerning the situation as he told the press:

"I'll speak with Roy Hodgson. After that, he'll be happy or not happy. But, I know that Steven is really an important player."

However, the reality remains that the Merseyside Reds must cope without the influential Steven Gerrard. Between now and next month, Liverpool will have to overcome this trial which starts with a home match against West Ham United this weekend.

There’s no way Roy Hodgson’s men can afford to allow themselves to drop points in this hard time for the club. In 11th position, Liverpool have a lot to do to improve their English Premier League status.
