The Ivory Coast midfielder was dropped from the Sky Blues' UCL squad by Pep Guardiola, prompting a war of words between the Spanish boss and his agent.

The feud between Pep Guardiola and Yaya Toure's inner circle has come to an end, as the midfielder issued an apology on his website earlier today, paving the way for his comeback.

Earlier this season, Guardiola revealed that the former African Player of the Year needed to apologize before returning to his duties with the team. Apparently, Guardiola was "disappointed" by the complaints of Toure's agent, Dimitri Seluk, following the midfielder's exclusion from the UEFA Champions League squad.

Touré showed his regret and even hinted he wants to keep playing for the Sky Blues.

"I wish to apologise – on behalf of myself and those who represent me – to the management team and all those working at the club for the misunderstandings from the past. Those statements do not represent my views on the club or the people who work there. I have nothing but respect for Manchester City and only wish the best for the football club," the player said in his statement.

“I am immensely proud to have played a part in the club’s history and want to help City succeed further. I live to play football and entertain the fans," he added.

Since Guardiola's arrival, Toure has only played friendly matches with the Citizens.

The veteran midfielder also addressed the team's supporters, as they were key for him during the most recent months.

"I would like to thank all of the fans for their messages through this difficult period. This means a great deal to me and my family," he concluded.

Manchester City's boss is yet to make a statement about Toure's words, as the club gets ready to play against Middlesbrough this weekend.
