The newly-appointed Blaugrana manager looks to rebuild the Spanish giants in order to reclaim the title from Real Madrid.

With Barcelona having named a new manager, signings are needed at the club. The Blaugrana endured a disappointing season, losing their league crown and crashing out in the Champions League due to a lack of depth.

Ernesto Valverde, who replaced the departed Luis Enrique, has already identified a number of positions that need reinforcing. Number one priority has gone to the right-back role, one which the Catalan giants failed to successfully fill upon Dani Alves’ departure.

Hector Bellerin is their main target, but Barca know luring him from Arsenal, who are unwilling to sell, will take time and a huge fee. Should the land the Spanish defender, that would mean Sergi Roberto will be free to return to midfield, but Valverde will be keen on adding more midfielders.

According to the Daily Mail, Barca are eying Marco Verratti and Philippe Coutinho. Unfortunately, both PSG and Liverpool are in no need to sell. The Blaugrana have done business with the Reds before, but convincing Nasser Al-Khelaifi to sell them the Italian ace is unlikely.

Another addition on Valverde’s transfer wish list is a winger. The former Athletic Bilbao boss feels Barca need to mix up their attack which can became too predictable.

Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez, Bayern’s Douglas Costa, and BVB’s Ousmane Dembele have all been linked. Signing any of the aforementioned wingers could mean a change in formation – to 4-2-3-1 or a 3-4-3 lineup.
