Thiago Motta has been called up by Cesare Prandelli. He’ll take part in one of Wednesday’s top friendly matches: it’s Italy vs Germany – a great fixture for Thiago Motta to make a thrilling debut in the Italy shirt.
The 28-year-old central midfielder doesn’t have much to look back too at the international level. As a Brazilian, Thiago Motta represented Brazil’s U-17 three times back in 1999 before appearing for Brazil only twice. The talented Thiago Motta has now been given the opportunity to play for Italy and this is something he relishes.

“Wearing the Italy jersey gives me a completely different emotion compared to all the rest that I’ve tried in football,” Thiago Motta told the media.

“It will be a great day for me [on Wednesday] and I feel privileged. I was born in Brazil, but I feel Italian. I am happy to be here.”

Thiago Motta has been given the go ahead by Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli to start for the Azzurri against Germany on Wednesday. Italy’s starting XI for this big friendly match goes as follows according to Prandelli’s statements:

“In goal, it will be Gianluigi Buffon. Then Mattia Cassani, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Ranocchia and Giorgio Chiellini are in defence.

“Riccardo Montolivo, Thiago Motta and Daniele De Rossi are in midfield.

“Then Stefano Mauri, Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini are in attack.”
