After months linked to the job, Arsene Wenger has finally admitted he does not want to be involved with PSG.
Speaking in a masterclass held at Olympia Theater in Paris, Le Prof discussed his work method, while he also talked about what the future might have in store for him. That last subject raised a few eyebrows among fans, as he ruled himself out of the race to coach PSG in the near future.
"No, I'm not a candidate for that job at all. I am a man who listens to his intuition, and right now, I am not linked with them at all," Wenger said.
The French boss did admit that the possibility of coaching a national team seduces him, but that needs to happen before the beginning of the 2022 World Cup.
"Coaching a national team would be nice. It could be. But in order for that to happen, it will be one or two years before the World Cup in 2022," Wenger added.
Wenger admitted that life away from football has been difficult, but even so, he misses all that surrounds coaching a team on a daily basis.
"I am somehow sad. I miss the competition because that's all that I have done in my life. I have enjoyed having time off and being able to walk around Paris, but I miss the adrenaline," Le Prof said.
The former Arsenal boss looked into PSG's hoodoo in UEFA Champions League games. Even if he did not want to describe the circumstances that have made their investments fail in recent years, Le Prof believes that Les Parisiens will eventually win the continental title.
"PSG is a great team, but they have a sort of Champions League curse. Let's not forget how they dominate all the local tournaments, they only have one obstacle to overcome. They will eventually get there, they just need time. Sometimes fans are overly impatient, they have to support their team through thick and thin," Wenger concluded.
