The English striker showcased his leadership skills with a pep talk during the break.

Harry Kane may not have been able to play Wednesday's game against Ajax, but he had something to do with Tottenham's epic comeback against Ajax.

The team captain and top scorer has been out for almost a month, following that tackle by Fabian Delph during the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Quarterfinals against Manchester City. Unable to play due to that injury, Kane made his presence felt at halftime, just when the team needed a boost to try and find a way to score three goals in 45 minutes.

Kane's involvement in the game was acknowledged by Kieran Trippier, who revealed the words Kane shared to them ahead of the second half.

"He came in going mental at us because 'we could do better than that', and we all knew we could," Trippier told BT Sport.

Then, the defender replied on whether Kane could be around to play the UEFA Champions League final on June 1.

"I don't know the timescale with his injury, but obviously we're all hoping he can be back. He just gives us that extra lift because his presence is massive for us," Trippier added.

Then, left-back Danny Rose admitted that Mauricio Pochettino's pep talk ahead of the game included a nod to Liverpool's comeback on Tuesday.

"Our coach mentioned the Reds' display during our pre-match talk. He did not care if we lost, but we needed to do so by leaving it all on the pitch," Rose said.
