Leicester City has reached an agreement with Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco for the transfer of Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans. The 23-year-old joins the Foxes in a permanent deal worth 40 million pounds after featuring in the 2018/2019 Premier League season on loan.
Tielemans moved to the King Power Stadium outfit during the winter transfer window and established himself as an integral squad member during his side's quest for a top 10 finish. The midfielder was involved in seven goals during his debut season, scoring three and assisting four in just 13 appearances.
As a result, a permanent switch to Leicester has since been on the cards although both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United were also believed to be in the race for the midfield sensation.

According to Kristof Terreur of HNL, the former Anderlecht prodigy was offered to Spurs, but Mauricio Pochettino's side had other priorities.The White Lilies recently completed a club record transfer for Lyon central midfielder Ndombele Tanguy.
Furthermore, there were informal talks between Manchester United and Tielemans' entourage about the possibility of him replacing the Red Devils' wantaway star Paul Pogba. However, no official bid was submitted by Old Trafford outfit and he was not considered as a priority signing at the moment.
