The Nerazzurri chief has a few delivered a few words on the fresh claims.

Inter Milan chief executive Beppe Marotta has slammed Mauro Icardi's wife and agent Wanda Nara for claims that the Argentine striker could stay with the Nerazzurri for another season. He insisted that the club has not backed down on its decision to banish the former skipper from the first team and is still looking to offload him before the transfer window closes.

Icardi's imminent exit from the Giuseppe Meazza has never been in doubt with Inter iterated this summer that the 26-year-old forward has no future with the side. Despite being handed No. 7 jersey for the new season, he is still expected to be sold in the near future.

However, on Sunday, Icardi's agent Wanda Nara placed skepticism about the said transfer with fresh claims while on punditry duties on the TV show Tiki Taka. The 32-year-old missus of the Argentine football star suggested that the Nerazzurri President Steven Zhang has asked his client and husband to stay at the club.

Her words have since not gone down well with Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta who has reaffirmed his club's stance on the future of Icardi.

"It is annoying for us, and I deny in no uncertain terms that any of Inter's directors, and in particular Steven Zhang, having invited Mauro Icardi to stay at the club," he told Italian broadcaster DAZN.

"Our strategy is precise and we have communicated it in the correct time. We will go forward together until the very end and no-one at Inter can change this line that we have taken together.

"We are very proud and grateful to our fans for having arrived at the stadium today in such high numbers today, it is up to us to repay their faith."
