Wonder why some fans despise the international break? One of the reason why it is hated by many is players tend to return from national team duty with injuries, which is always a blow to their respective clubs.
This is something Arsenal are facing, with two players picking up knocks during the international break. They are none other than midfield duo Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira.
Both started in the Gunners last game before the break, the 2-2 draw with Tottenham. While both men were guilty of underperforming in the North London Derby, they are two key members in Emery's lineup.
Xhaka, who wore the captain's armband in the draw with Spurs, picked up a knock during Switzerland's clash with Gibraltar. Whether it is something serious or not remains unknown, but the midfielder was seen limping off the pitch with what appeared to be an Achilles issue during the 4-0 Euro 2020 qualifier victory.

As for Torreira, he reportedly picked up an injury during his nation's 2-1 win over Costa Rica. The Uruguayan was taken off before half-time and his situation remains unclear as well.
Emery will be hoping that these are no serious issues. His Premier League side sit fifth in the standings after four games with seven points and will face Watford once play resumes. Should Xhaka and Torreira sit out that clash, Ceballos might be forced to play a deeper role alongside Guendouzi due to an injury to Willock.
