The Nigerian is eager to make his debut for the Red Devils, with the Manchester giants failing to score in their last three league outings.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on integrating Odion Ighalo with the Man United squad due to Marcus Rashford and even admitted that the Nigerian forward could make his debut for the Red Devils in the Premier League next week.

The Premier League champions will return to action in the league on Monday with none other than a clash with Chelsea, their fellow top-four rivals. According to the Norwegian boss, the former Watford man will make the trip to Stamford Bridge and could even feature.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Ole was asked about the availability of the 30-year-old for Monday’s trip. Solskjaer’s response: "Yeah, he is going to travel with us.

"We will just see his fitness work this week and I think we will get him sharp.

"We want to integrate him as quickly as we can because, of course, he is desperate to play for us."

Ighalo wasn’t permitted to join up with the rest of the first team in Spain due to fears he would not be able to return due to the coronavirus. As a result, he has been in England working on his fitness and preparing for his first game in Man United’s famous jersey.

The Red Devils are without Rashford who suffered an unfortunate double stress fracture in his back. In the absence of their top scores, Ole’s side have gone three straight league games without scoring, losing two of them.

The Manchester giants currently sit in the eighth spot and are six points behind’s fourth-placed Chelsea in the race to qualify for next season’s Champions League. With Sheffield, Tottenham, and Everton all moving ahead of them in the standings, Martial and Co. must win at the Bridge.
