The 60-year-old former Chelsea boss was booked following a confrontation with the match referee in the aftermath of Sunday's game.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti was shown a red card after a controversial VAR decision prevented his side from getting the win against Manchester United. The Italian manager was given his marching orders at full time after confronting referee Chris Kavanagh and protesting against his decision to overrule Dominic Calvert-Lewin's late goal.

In Sunday afternoon's epic encounter, Calvert-Lewin first fire Everton in front inside the first three minutes before Bruno Fernandes restored parity for the Red Devils less than 14 minutes before half-time. However, the biggest talking point of the game emerged at the very end of the match with the Toffee's almost running away as victors.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin thought he had fired Everton to victory inside the 93rd minute when Harry Maguire had his compatriot's shot deflecting off his leg past David de Gea for an own-goal. Moments later, a consultation by referee Kavanagh with the Video Assistant Referee led the latter to rule out the goal. This was on the back of the evidence that Gylfi Sigurdsson, who was sitting on the pitch when the ball was goal-bound, interfered with play despite failing to make contact with the ball.

Neverthless, the decision was not taken lightly by an irate Carlo Ancelotti as the former Napoli and Bayern Munich boss immediately rushed to the match official after the final whistle with his grievances. The Everton manager is now likely to face a suspension and also risks paying a fine to the English Football Association.
