The Portuguese midfielder was caught telling Pep to shut up after an exchange of words in the final minutes of the game.

The Manchester Derby was one of the most exciting games from the most recent Premier League Matchday – and possibly final if the season is prematurely cancelled due to coronavirus. Man United hosted Man City at the Red Devils and beat their bitter rivals 2-0, pulling off a league double over the Citizens for the first time since the Sir Alex Ferguson days.

One moment during the game that caught everyone’s attention was an altercation between Bruno Fernandes, the new midfield ace at the Theatre of Dreams, and Pep Guardiola. In one incident right before added time, the pair could be seen exchanging words before the Portuguese midfielder shushed the Spanish tactician.

Red Devils fans loved this reaction from the former Sporting Lisbon midfielder, adding braveness to the goals and assists he adds to Solskjaer’s side. Fernandes has now opened up about that altercation, revealing why he shushed the Man City boss.

According to the Man United talent, the iconic manager disrespected him with his choice of words. The midfielder stated this in an interview with Sky Sports but he did not reveal what exactly Pep said to him during that incident.

“Some people think ‘Pep won everything.. Who is Bruno to do this to him?’ Fernandes said.

“But at that moment, the words he told me make me mad.

“I have respect for Pep and for what he wins and what he did for football but he didn’t respect me, so he doesn’t deserve my respect at that moment on the pitch.”
