Michael Essien has exonarated Fernando Torres by insisting that the Spaniard is only a few more matches away from breaking his goal duck at Chelsea.
Ever since his big-money move from Liverpool last January, Fernando Torres has not made any prominent impact at Chelsea yet. He has been under massive pressure over the past few months for his inability to score for the Blues although he has continually received backing from his teammates and coaching staff.

Now even Michael Essien has run to the aid of his suffering Chelsea teammate by reiterating that time is the only thing El Nino needs to start showing his true capabilities at Stamford Bridge.

"To be honest, we're not concerned. We know it's going to come," he told Sky Sports.

"He's been working very hard and has everyone's support. We just have to be patient. He'll start scoring for us in time.

"Nando is one of the best strikers in the world at this moment. When he starts scoring, all the noise about him will stop. It's just a matter of time.

"Coming into a new club, he needs to settle. The players and the club have no doubts about him. We know he's going to deliver."

These comments come ahead of Chelsea's huge clash with Manchester United later tonight in the Champions League Quarter finals second leg. Perhaps, it could be the stage where Torres announces his arrival at Chelsea.
