Another London derby is upon us with a place in the quarter-finals of the English domestic cup competition at stake.

Match preview

Tottenham Hotspur will welcome their local rivals Chelsea to the Tottenham Stadium for Tuesday's Carabao Cup fourth round tie. The White Lilies enter the upcoming encounter on the back of a disappointing draw with Newcastle in the Premier League, marred by questionable handball call and VAR controversy. They will, however, look to book a place in the quarterfinals of the domestic cup game before facing Maccabi Haifa and Manchester United in the coming days.

Jose Mourinho's men started the season on a wrong foot with their opening day defeat in the Premier League to Everton but have since backed up to get a series of good results. They have so far registered wins against Lokomotiv Plovdiv and KF Shkendija in the Europa League qualifiers while beating and drawing with Southampton and Newcastle respectively.

For Chelsea, Frank Lampard will be demanding more of the same from his men as far as their form in the Carabao Cup is concerned. The Blues booked the upcoming clash with Spurs by condemning Barnsley to a 6-0 defeat in the previous round. This weekend, they were almost subjected to their second Premier League defeat of the season but for a resurgent second half performance to secure a 3-3 draw against West Brom.

So far, the Stamford Bridge outfit has the league defeat to Liverpool as the only chink in their armour. They have managed two wins and a draw in the four competitive games played to this point.

Relatively, Moussa Sissoko (illness) and Japhet Tanganga (thigh) are all sidelined for the clash.

On the other hand, Chelsea should be without Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech as they yet to make full recoveries. On a positive note, Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi are in contention to start.
