The left-back was omitted from the Scotland side that took on Slovakia on Sunday after suffering a hamstring injury.

Liverpool have been hit with another injury blow with full-back Andrew Robertson joining the lengthy list of players on the treatment table. The 26-year-old defender was made to sit out Scotland's 1-0 defeat to Serbia after suffering a hamstring injury ahead of the clash.

Robertson was in action for Scotland on Thursday when they sealed the historic win over Slovakia to qualify for next summer's European championship. However, following the night's triumph, the left-back revealed in a post-match interview that he pulled a muscle in the course of the game.

Ahead of Scotland's trip to Slovakia on Sunday, head coach Steve Clark confirmed that the defender was a doubt for the encounter as he was yet to recover from hamstring injury. The player was subsequently rested, raising eyebrows with regards to the extent of the injury.

For Liverpool, the news comes as a massive blow as it will mean that none among their first choice back four is fit. Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent-Alexander Arnold are all sidelined and are undergoing recuperation. Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin and Thiago Alcantara are also on the treatment table while Mohamed Salah remains in isolation after testing positive for coronavirus while on international duty with Egypt.

Jurgen Klopp is set for a selection dilemma with Liverpool gearing up for a clash with Leicester City when the international break ends.
