Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay landed a remarkable Premier League record as his side run riot in Sunday's Premier League clash with rivals Leeds United. The 24-year-old Scottish man scored twice in the first three minutes of the game at Old Trafford to become the first-ever player in the competition's history to achieve the feat.

Following a 16-year spell away from the English top-flight, Leeds marked their much awaited return to Old Trafford but were handed a rather unpleasant surprise before they could find their feet in the game. Just 67 seconds after kick-off, Scott McTominay smashed home United's opener right behind the visitors 18-yard box after having the ball rolled into his path by Bruno Fernandes.

Less than a minute later, the Red Devils' academy graduate run in behind the Leeds defense to put Anthony Martial's pass beyond Illan Meslier for United's second goal. The lead was increased to three by Bruno Fernandes in the 20th minute before Victor Lindelof put the game to bed with the fourth in the 37th minute.

Having gained a reputation for their resilience and hunger to push ahead in disadvantaged situations, Leeds managed a consolation in the 41st minute through Liam Cooper. Nevertheless, the damage had already been done as Marcelo Bielsa's men conceded four first-half goals in a Premier League match for the first time in what was their 482nd game in the competition.

In the second half, any intention of a dramatic comeback by the visitors was scrapped as Daniel James justified his inclusion in the starting lineup today with his first goal of the Premier League season in the 61st minute. Bruno Fernandes shortly made it two goals with a perfect spot kick before Stuart Dallas reduced the goal deficit to four with a brilliant finish into the top-right corner in the 73rd minute.
