The German might have just been appointed the new Chelsea head coach, but the German tactician already knows who he wants this summer.

Thomas Tuchel might have just been appointed the new Chelsea head coach, but the German boss has reportedly already identified his no.1 target for the upcoming summer transfer window.

This is according to the Daily Mail, with the British publication reporting that Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland has been shortlisted as a key target. The London giants are set to back their newly-appointed boss once the season ends and their search for a striker could bring them to the doorsteps of the Bundesliga giants.

The motivation is obvious: due to his age and goalscoring record, the Norwegian youngster is one of the hottest strikers in world football. There is a reason why he is wanted by the likes of Real Madrid, Man United, and Man City, with the Blues being one of a few European clubs with the financial prowess to fight for his services.

Additionally, the Daily Mail has offered more insight into Tuchel's plans for Chelsea. The sacking of Frank Lampard brought concern for the club's striving academy graduates Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, and Reece James. The trio were shown belief by the recently-sacked coach and thus excelled, but with Super Frank now gone and the former PSG boss coming in to replace him, many began wondering whether this would spark the end for the three English starlets.

However, the report claims that the Chelsea academy graduates are a part of Tuchel's plan, which will come as great news to the fans who have grown attached to their own. Another interesting aspect is the Werner-Havertz conundrum and how the new coach will get the best out of the two struggling German sensations.

One player who loses out due to this appointment is Declan Rice. The West Ham ace was high up Lampard's wish list but this managerial change looks to have killed all interest in the Hammers midfielder.
