Two other Premier League telecasts cracked into the top three most-watched games of the week on U.S. TV. NBC Sports Network's transmission of Manchester City's 1-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday morning claimed the second position with 431,000 average viewers, resulting in a 0.27 viewership rating. The third most-watched game of the week was one of the most exciting ones in Liverpool's 3-1 away win at Tottenham on Thursday afternoon. The game scored a 0.24 rating after an average of 426,000 tuned in to watch during American work hours. Four other NBCSN games made it to Showbuzzdaily's top 150 cable originals and network finals, adding up to a total of 1,636,000 average viewers across the six Premier League games broadcasted on the channel last week.
Spanish language channel TUDN lived another successful week despite not landing a broadcast in the top 3. As usual, TUDN showcased a healthy lineup of six Liga MX games throughout the week. Club America's 2-0 win over Juarez in the legendary Estadio Azteca on Tuesday, Jan. 26, attracted 314,000 average viewers and received a solid 0.15 viewership rating. When adding the viewership with the remaining five games, the total comes out to 1,357,000.
BeIN Sport was the only other channel that landed more than one soccer broadcast in Showbuzzdaily's top 150 cable originals and network finals. The most successful of the three games was La Liga Santander's transmission of Barcelona's 2-1 win over Athletic Club on Sunday. The game garnered an average of 188,000 spectators and received a 0.07 viewership rating. Another game that was broadcasted by beIN Sport last weekend and is worth talking about was the Copa Libertadores Final. The final between two Brazilian teams reeled in 111,000 viewers in the U.S. that got to see Palmeiras lift the cup after defeating Santos 1-0.
The last two channels that landed games in Showbuzzdaily last week were Fox Sports 1 and ESPN Deportes. FS1 broadcasted the USMNT's 7-0 barrage over Trinidad & Tobago on Friday. An average of 258,000 viewers tuned in to watch the game and it received a solid 0.15 viewership rating. On the other hand, ESPN Deportes' broadcast featured a Liga MX game between Cruz Azul and Queretaro on Saturday. The transmission received a 0.05 viewership rating after an average of 104,000 people tuned in.
