Zlatan Ibrahimovic might be celebrating his 40th birthday this October, but as the often-used statement goes, age is nothing but a number.
The Swedish star, who is notable as he's played for all three of Italy's biggest clubs (Juventus, Inter, and AC Milan), as well as teams like Barcelona, PSG, LA Galaxy, and Manchester United, is now in his second spell at the Stadio San Siro. And despite being the resident "senior citizen" - to put this in perspective, he's 20 years older than Paolo Maldini's son Daniel - Ibrahimovic has showed no signs of slowing down. In fact, with 14 goals (16 across all comps), he's Milan's top goal-scorer, and until being sidelined by a recent injury, was among the top three candidates for the Capocannoniere this year.
He nonetheless remains in the running, although Juventus and Inter aces Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku have taken advantage of Ibrahimovic's goal drought to establish a six and four goal lead over him respectively. Although he hasn't been able to play every game - and certainly won't in the upcoming season - Milan's hierarchy still feel it's worth their while to keep him on their books for just a little bit longer.

The Rossoneri, who are hoping to secure their first Scudetto since 2011, acquired Ibrahimovic on a free transfer from LA Galaxy last year and his contract is set to expire this June. However, Milan have been so impressed with his contributions, as well as his mentorship of younger players, that, according to Italian publication Il Corriere della Sera, they're seriously considering offering him a one-year extension. If so, Ibrahimovic, who's also Sweden's all-time top goal-scorer, would be offered the same salary he presently makes - approximately €7 million per season.
Ironically, his teammate's father, Paolo Maldini, is among those who will decide on whether Ibrahimovic remains at the Stadio San Siro for another season, but all signs point to Diavolo fans highly likely being able to enjoy watching him in action for at least another year.
As of now, Ibrahimovic is presently recovering from a thigh injury that will see him unfortunately miss out on a reunion with his former colleagues at Old Trafford on Thursday, March 11th, and it's possible he may also have to miss out on the home leg at the Stadio San Siro next week.
