The No. 1 U.S. women’s national team will face No. 3 France at Stade Oceane in Le Havre on April 13 after taking on No. 5 Sweden in Stockholm on April 10.

U.S. Soccer announced the USWNT’s second match of its two-game European tour during the April FIFA international match window on Monday.

Women soccer fans in the United States will be able to watch the game on ESPN2, with coverage starting on Tuesday, April 13 at 3 p.m. ET.

USWNT head coach Vlatko Andonovski expressed his interest in facing the world’s top nations to prepare the team for Tokyo 2021. In return, his team will face two of the best national teams in April after taking down No. 4 the Netherlands last year in a friendly and No. 8 Brazil and No. 8 Canada in the 2021 SheBelieves Cup.

“We feel really fortunate to be able to get these two games during the April match window,” said Andonovski. “Playing France in France is one of the most difficult games we could schedule and that’s exactly what we are looking for in the lead up to the Olympics. They have top-class players at every position, play an exciting style and will certainly be highly motivated. They will present a lot of challenges that we will have to overcome both defensively and in the attack.”

The game against France in April will be the USWNT’s first meeting with France since the quarterfinal clash at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Paris. The USA won the game 2-1 at Parc des Princes, with Megan Rapinoe scoring both goals.

The Americans have played the French 24 times, but only five games have taken place in France. Out of the five, France claimed two wins, including a 3-1 win in January 2019 in Le Havre. However, the USA leads the all-time record vs. France 18-3-3.
