Upon giving his explosive interview with Sky Sports on his relationship with Jose Mourinho, Man United ace Paul Pogba found himself plastered across the headlines for rehashing his rivalry with the Special One. All eyes quickly turned to the Portuguese tactician and his inevitable rebuttal, with the Tottenham boss finally issuing a response after Spurs' clash with Everton.
The French midfielder sat down with Laura Woods for a conversation on the recent exchange between Solskjaer and Mourinho in the aftermath of the Red Devils' 3-1 triumph over the north London giants. Ole had slammed Son for his reaction to his collision with McTominay, claiming he would not have fed him dinner had the Korean been his son, leading Jose to label the Norwegian a bad father.
When asked for his thoughts on this exchange, Pogba confessed his candid opinion on Mourinho, arguing that he is always one to deflect attention after suffering a defeat. Furthermore, the 2018 World Cup winner, when asked about the difference between Ole and Jose, offered interesting insight as to why his relationship with the Special One soured during their time together at Old Trafford.
"I don't know what happened. I'm sure Mourinho said something that would make people speak, that's what he does," Pogba said about Mourinho's war-of-words with Solskjaer.
"We got the result we wanted, Ole knows it and we enjoyed that moment because we know Mourinho and we know what he likes. We don't need this [war of words], we just focus on us.
"We won the game, he lost the game and he doesn't want to speak about the game, he wants to speak about the dad of someone, that's what he does. Everybody knows him, it's very Mourinho."
When asked what the difference is between working under Solskjaer and Mourinho, the Frenchman answered: "What I have now with Ole is different, he wouldn't go against the players.
"He wouldn't go against the players.
"Maybe Ole wouldn't pick them, but it's not like he puts them on the side like they don't exist anymore. That's the difference between Mourinho and Ole.
"Once I had a great relationship with Mourinho, everybody saw that, and the next day you don't know what happened. That's the strange thing I had with Mourinho and I cannot explain to you because even I don't know. So, yeah."
Fans knew Mourinho would issue a response sooner or later, and after the final whistle was blown on Everton vs Tottenham and the 58-year-old got on camera to speak with the media, the Portuguese tactician was asked for his thoughts.
"I would like to say that I couldn't care less with what he says,' Jose told Sky Sports in the wake of the 2-2 draw at Goodison Park. "I am not interested at all."

Pogba is currently enjoying life at Old Trafford after his tumultuous time with Mourinho. Harmony has resumed at the Theatre of Dreams and crucial signings such as Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire have propelled the club to become England's second-best team. Tottenham, on the other hand, are in the midst of a crisis, going from title contenders back in December to being in danger of missing out on a UEFA Champions League spot. The 2-2 draw with Everton is the fifth time in their last six outings that they have failed to win a match, with Harry Kane and Co. in risk of falling eight points behind fourth-placed West Ham.
