Arsene Wenger has made five additions to his squad over the entire transfer window in a bid to bolster them for campaigns in four competitions.
Arsenal takes on Swansea on Saturday as they hope to finally kick-start their Premier League campaign. This season, the London club has more red cards to its name than points. From three games, Arsenal has recorded just one point so far. A defeat to Manchester United that will hurt for a long time forced Arsene Wenger to make quick signings to bolster his injury hit squad.

Wenger bought Per Mertesacker from Werder Bremen, Andre Santos from Fenerbahce and Park Chu Young from Monaco. Ryo Miyaichi has returned to Arsenal from loan to Fenerbahce while Yossi Benayoun has joined from Chelsea on loan for a year. Mikel Arteta, the talented Spaniard has joined from Everton.

Thomas Vermaelen will be out for two months. Jack Wilshere will be unavailable for at-least another month. Kieran Gibbs will hopefully be able to play this weekend. Thus, considering that Bacary Sagna hasn’t recovered fully from his illness, let’s take a look at what could turn out to be Arsenal’s starting eleven on Saturday.

The goalkeeper will obviously be the Pole Wojciech Szczesny who was just scintillating for his country against Germany. He kept the Germans out for a long time until his resistance finally broke in the second half.

Per Mertesacker will get one of the two berths in central defence. Laurent Koscielny will seemingly get the other berth. New signing Andre Santos will perhaps start on the left-wing and Kieran Gibbs will have to play on the right wing.

Alex Song is still suspended and Aaron Ramsey might pair up in defensive midfield with Mikel Arteta. Gervinho played well in the games he featured in and will get a spot on the left-wing once he returns from suspension. For now, expect to see Andrei Arshavin there.

Theo Walcott will get the nod on the right wing. Then comes the spot behind the forward, Robin Van Persie. Van Persie scored four goals for the Dutch against San Marino in an 11-0 victory for his country.

Benayoun will seemingly take the spot behind the striker. Had Song and Gervinho not been suspended, Benayoun might have expected to find himself on the bench.

Andrei Arshavin will need to improve his form.this one. He has looked out of form in recent matches. Arshavin has shown flashes of brilliance but has failed to apply the finishing touches to his mazy runs on the pitch.

Rosicky has also shown us his brilliance, but, again, he has not been able to maintain a constant high level of performance. Thus, Rosicky will not feature.

So, here is the line-up again:

Szczesny
Santos- Mertesacker- Koscielny- Gibbs
Arteta- Ramsey
Arshavin- Benayoun- Walcott
Van Persie

These players will hopefully finally give the ailing Gunners a Premier League victory.
