On a miserable night for Madridistas, Real Madrid got shocked at the Ciudade de Valencia by home team Levante. A solitary goal by Arouna Koné proved to be the difference.
Kaka was offered a starting XI place whereas Cristiano Ronaldo started from the bench. In reply to the controversial “I’m handsome, rich and talented” comment he made recently, the Portuguese was greeted by the home crowd with a banner reading, “We're ugly, poor and not very good!” Unfortunately for Cristiano Ronaldo, Levante supporters indeed got the last laugh.

In the early stages of the game, Real Madrid looked aggressive in attack. They even thought they had scored after 9 minutes before the referee saved Levante by ruling the goal out for offside. Benzema came very close to breaking the deadlock midway through the first half as Kaka and Coentrao looked lively.

But then the tension in the match heated. Valdo Iborra and Di Maria received yellow cards before Sami Khedira got sent off for two bookable offenses.

What a massive blow for Los Blancos who also had to play with ten men on match-day 2 of La Liga! Cristiano Ronaldo’s second period inclusion increased Real Madrid’s options but the way back to win the game was lost.

Arouna Koné’s 68th minute goal stunned Los Blancos as more yellow cards tarnished the flow of the encounter. Real Madrid now lack behind Barcelona in La Liga standings and they haven’t scored away to Levante in La Liga in 180 minutes of football now.

Can we already talk about a Ciudade de Valencia stadium jinx and an early defeat of the Spanish Primera Division title for the Spanish giants?
