The highest ranked team in CONCACAF looks to make a splash in the upcoming World Cup competition. Here are the team details and how you may watch them while in Mexico.

Watch Mexico's FIFA World Cup games in Mexico - Match Schedule, TV and Streaming

Mexican fans -and football fans overall- will be able to follow all of El Tri's games in Qatar via Televisa's channels: Las Estrellas, Canal 5, N+ and more. The agreement by the Spanish-speaking network with FIFA will see Televisa airing 32 games overall, with all of Mexico's games on free-to-air television. Added to that, Mexico's games will also be available to see on Azteca 7. Pay-tv channels such as TUDN and Sky Mexico will also air simultaneous broadcasts of Mexico's games during the World Cup, with the latter airing all 64 games in the tournament.

There will also be some options for those users who want to follow the tournament on-the-go. The first one of them will be VIX+, which will be streaming all games for the Mexican team on mobile devices and computers. Additionally, Blue To Go Video Everywhere will be another option to stream all games in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The platform is owned and operated by Sky Mexico.

About Mexico in World Cup history

This will be Mexico's seventeenth World Cup appearance. El Tri was one of the lucky teams to be invited to the first edition held in 1930, but they were swiftly eliminated after losing all their games. Their first appearance in the next round finally came in 1970 when they hosted the competition, but they would eventually be eliminated by Italy in the Quarterfinals. Mexico reached that stage once more in 1986 while playing as hosts, which is their best result so far in the tournament. Recently, Mexico have reached the Round of 16 stage in the past seven World Cups.

Who is Mexico's coach for the 2022 FIFA World Cup?

Gerardo "Tata" Martino will be leading Mexico into the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The former Atlanta United and Barcelona coach has only been involved in a prior edition of the World Cup, when he led Paraguay to the last eight in the tournament held in South Africa (2010), where would-be champions Spain eliminated them from the competition.

Mexico's expectations ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup

The CONCACAF-based team is not considered to be a title contender, but they are seen by many as one of the teams in Group C that could put up a fight against Argentina and Poland. The smart bet for Mexico would be to try and make it to the Knockout stage, and once there, El Tri will have to do everything in their power to reach the Quarterfinals for the first time in over 30 years.

Mexico: Key players for the 2022 FIFA World Cup

This team's hopes for success in Qatar will rely heavily on the performances of three men. The first one of those is goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, who will make a World Cup squad for the fifth time in his career, and who is seen by many as one of the top players in El Tri history. The second one of Mexico's aces is Ajax midfielder Edson Álvarez, who played his first World Cup in 2018 and has vastly improved for club and country, becoming one of the most reliable players for his coaches and the owner of the holding midfielder position for Mexico.

Last, but not least, Mexico's goalscoring hopes will fall on Hirving "Chucky" Lozano. The Napoli star was responsible for El Tri's win over Germany in 2018, and with striker Raúl Jiménez not living his best moments, Lozano will be key down the flanks to help Mexico with his quick feet and long-distance shots.
