Coach Didier Deschamps could be forced to think about new tactics due to the recent setbacks suffered by two of his footballers.

It has not been an easy week for French fans when it comes to learning about the complications Didier Deschamps could face when coming up with the squad that will play in Qatar, and judging by the following setbacks, it is about to get worse for the 2018 FIFA World Cup champions.

According to reports coming in from France's training complex at Clairefontaine, two of the team's most prolific strikers had to leave their final training session of the evening due to different physical problems. The first one of them was Karim Benzema, and the other one was none other than Christopher Nkunku.

Benzema has been struggling for a while to find his fitness, which forced him to miss quite a few games for Real Madrid. The 2022 Ballon D'Or winner was included on the squad that will defend the 2018 title for Les Bleus, but he had to leave the pitch after just 15 minutes of training.

As for Nkunku, the RB Leipzig star had to leave the training session after picking up a knock on his left leg while fighting for a ball against Eduardo Camavinga. The player left the pitch limping and his evolution will be determined once the undergoes the necessary tests.

France has been struggling with a lot of injuries prior to the World Cup. The first ones to be left out of the team were N'Golo Kanté and Paul Pogba, who couldn't recover from their respective physical problems. Then, it was Presnel Kimpembé who was dropped from the team due to a muscular injury. Now, Deschamps will be begging for Benzema and Nlkunku's recovery, mainly since both of them have been deemed key to the coach's plans in the World Cup.

France are expected to make the trip to Doha tomorrow, but only time will tell if Benzema and Nkunku are fit enough to have a role for France in the World Cup.
