What started as a dream story between the club and the player has concluded in a true nightmare.
In a brief statement, Manchester United have announced the end of Cristiano Ronaldo's contract with the club after a complicated semester, in which the player seemed to be doing everything in his power to get fired by the Red Devils.
To make matters worse, the player's incendiary interview with Piers Morgan sparked outrage among Man United's fanbase, which caused the team's hierarchy to part ways with the legendary footballer.
The player's refusal to join the team's preseason, along with several instances where he left his teammates behind even when they were still playing prompted the decision by the English club.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect. The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future. Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team's progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch," the brief press release stated.
The footballer is now ready to join whichever team he desires. The main problem for him is that his massive wages will not make it easy for any of his potential destinations.
