The Dutchman has weighed in on the conversation about his future.

Cody Gakpo has weighed in on the conversation surrounding his future amid claims that he could be heading to Manchester United in the coming months. The 23-year-old attacker has stated that he would consider a move to Old Trafford should the Red Devils reignite their interest.

Following a remarkable start to the season with Eredivise side PSV, Gakpo has replicated his club form for the Netherlands at the ongoing FIFA World Cup. The reigning Dutch Player of the Year has been instrumental in Oranje's charge to reaching the quarter-finals, scoring three goals in four matches thus far. Before the tournament began, he had registered 13 goals and 12 assists in 24 appearances for his club side.

Gakpo's dazzling display has caught the eyes of many top European clubs with Manchester United said to be in the mix once more. Over the summer, the Red Devils inquired about the winger's availability but decided against signing him before the transfer window closed. With Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club, it is believed that Erik ten Hag's side will recruit a replacement and a return for the Dutchman is being widely speculated.

Speaking to Dutch newspaper NRC ahead of the Netherland's quarter-final clash with Argentina, the PSV star revealed that he learned from last summer's turn of events and still remains calm as he awaits a big move. He said: "That was a tough period.

"I learned from that. I'm going to do it differently. What comes, that comes.

"Suppose you want to go from RKC (Waalwijk) to PSV, but that club is not coming. Then you can panic.

"I thought about Manchester United, but when that didn't happen, I couldn't remember. And I started to doubt. Leeds United did come. Should I go there?

"Now I wait (for) everything. I haven't heard from Manchester United yet. When they come, I'll think about it. I also seek the help of God in these decisions," Gakpo added.
