Chelsea's marquee summer signing hasn't hit the ground running at the Bridge and Tuchel is said to be looking elsewhere for goals.

Chelsea might have spent $75M on Timo Werner just last summer but the Premier League giants are said to be ready to cut their losses with the struggling. According to Sky Sports Germany, the Blues' search for a replacement led them to the doorsteps of Bayern Munich.

The German news outlet claim that the London heavyweights have made contact with Bundesliga superstar Robert Lewandowski in a bid to solve their issues in front of goal. Tuchel has backed Werner in public, but behind the scenes, the Stamford Bridge boss is said to have run out of patience.

Despite his hefty price tag, the 25-year-old has managed only six goals in the Premier League this season. In fact, Chelsea's top scorer in the English top-flight this season is Jorginho, with the Italian midfielder netting seven times, with all of those goals coming via penalties.

The Stamford Bridge side have improved drastically since Tuchel arrived in the English capital. However, a lethal goalscorer is seen as the final piece of the jigsaw. Lewandowski isn't the only name being linked with this season's UEFA Champions League finalists as the club also have an eye on Inter Milan's Romelu Lukaku, Dortmund's Erling Haaland, and Harry Kane, who recently handed in a transfer request at Tottenham.

However, Tuchel's focus is said to be on Lewandowski, with the Polish goalscoring machine reportedly considering his future at Bayern Munich and pondering over an Allianz Arena departure. It should be noted that should the 32-year-old decide to leave the Bundesliga champions, his preference would be a move to Spain.

Here is where Barcelona enter the mix, but the financial crisis at the Camp Nou might prevent them from landing Europe's Golden Boot favorite. PSG are also said to be monitoring the situation as they look to draw up plans for a possible Kylian Mbappe departure.
