The end of the competition has brought quite a few talking points, including who should be named among the best -and the worst- players in it.

It was quite an entertaining FIFA World Cup for everyone who witnessed most of the games, and with that in mind, the analysis on who dazzled the globe and who could have done a better job is always a matter of interest.

The first of these insights on who the best players in the world were during the tournament was provided by Opta Analyst, who included some stellar names in their lineup alongside the obvious choices of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Achraf Hakimi, to name a few. Nevertheless, there were some interesting omissions, such as Luka Modric or goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.
