The black and yellow side could welcome the striker back to their training sessions earlier than initially expected by his doctors.

Back in the summer, Borussia Dortmund announced the signing of Sebastién Haller as their next No.9, one who would have the duty of trying to fill the void of Erling Haaland. Unfortunately, things for the Ivorian striker did not work as expected, as he was diagnosed with testicular cancer just weeks after being unveiled as the Black and Yellow's new footballer.

Today, Haller's story has taken a fresh turn, as the player could return to the team' training grounds as soon as the New Year hits. According to Bild, the Ivory Coast player will be joining his teammates if the results of his latest tests goes properly.

The striker has undergone surgery twice since his diagnosis was revealed to the world, including one a couple of weeks ago. That surgery and its latest results will determine the outcome of the player's treatment and his potential availability for the Black and Yellow.

Borussia Dortmund spent a bit over $31M euros to hire Haller away from Ajax, and while his new club has not been able to enjoy the player's performances, their fans and especially the footballer will be looking forward to an inminent debut once his doctors give him a clear bill of health.

Haller has scored 182 goals in just over 400 games in a long career, which has included stints playing for Auxerre, Utrecht, Eintracht Frankfurt, West Ham, and Ajax, where he scored 47 goals in two seasons prior to joining Borussia Dortmund.
