Manchester United have been linked with yet another player as the Red Devils scramble to find additional attacking options.

It's no secret that Manchester United are in the hunt for a reliable striker as the Red Devils aim to boost their squad for the second half of the season. Having missed out on 2022 FIFA World Cup breakout star Cody Gakpo, with Liverpool pipping them to secure the Dutch international's signature, Erik ten Hag's side have been linked with quite a few options during this winter's transfer market.

One player that reports have mooted as an option is Olivier Giroud. Despite being 36, the 2018 World Cup winner shows no signs of slowing down and has quickly become a fan favorite for his excellent displays at AC Milan. So far, the veteran striker has scored an impressive 23 goals in 57 appearances for the Rossoneri across all comps, and played a vital role in Stefano Pioli's men winning the Scudetto last season, which was Milan's first since 2011.

With that in mind, it may be tough to get the deal through, especially as Milan may be keen on offering Giroud an extension to keep him at the Stadio San Siro. However, Giroud's Premier League experience, which has seen him play for both Chelsea and Arsenal, where he won multiple titles at both clubs, including the Champions League and Europa League with Chelsea.

Furthermore, Giroud, given his age would be a short-term fix rather than a long term solution, so it remains to be seen whether Manchester United will try that formula again or wait a bit longer to see if a younger option becomes available during the summer transfer window.
