Spurs host the Gunners seeking revenge while Arteta's men look to end their horrible away record in order to pull eight points clear at the top.

With the Manchester Derby being done and dusted, the focus now shifts to Super Sunday and the highly-anticipated North London Derby. In a game that could blow the Premier League title race wide open, Tottenham prepare to host Arsenal as the hosts go in search of sweet revenge over their neighbors.

The last time Spurs locked horns with their despised rivals, things did not end well for Conte's men. While that fixture took place at the Emirates Stadium, the performance was unimaginative nonetheless, with Kane and Co. suffering a frustrating 3-1 defeat.

The aforementioned English striker got on the scoresheet courtesy of a penalty, but that ultimately proved fruitless, as goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus, and Granit Xhaka handed 10-man Spurs their first defeat of the Premier League season.

Since then, a lot has gone wrong for the North London giants. The home side have won only half of the 10 Premier League games that followed that Emirates Stadium defeat, losing to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, and Aston Villa while only beating Brighton, Everton, Leeds, Bournemouth, and Crystal Palace.

Fortunately, that victory over the Eagles was their most recent outing, meaning Tottenham head into the derby on the back of some form. It was their first and only top-flight victory since the end of the FIFA World Cup, with Kane grabbing a brace while Son and Doherty also got on the scoresheet.

However, with Manchester United beating Manchester City 2-1 on Saturday and Newcastle hosting Fulham on Sunday, Spurs are at risk of losing further ground in the top-four race. The Lillywhites are currently in fifth with 33 points, just two behind the Magpies and five behind the Red Devils. The UEFA Champions League side must triumph over Arsenal or will be in grave danger of dropping into the UEFA Europa League come next season.

As for the Gunners, they are top of the table and have been handed a golden opportunity to pull eight points clear at the top. They will have to win the North London Derby in order to take this commanding lead, which is no easy feat. Nonetheless, expect Arteta's men to go all out in order to achieve this.

As mentioned earlier, Manchester United beat Manchester City 2-1, which means Arsenal have the opportunity to go eight points clear at the top. However, this presents a conundrum as well because the Red Devils are now only six points behind the league leaders.

And with Saka and Co. set to face Erik ten Hag's side straight after the North London Derby, a defeat on Sunday followed by a loss at home to Manchester United could swing the title race wide open, with Rashford and Co. forcing their way into the conversation.

The Gunners enter their derby on the back of a win, beating Oxford United 3-0 in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Eddie Nketiah kept up his fine form in the absence of Gabriel Jesus, scoring a brace to make it four goals in four games since the end of the FIFA World Cup.

However, Arsenal were met with frustration in their last Premier League outing, drawing 0-0 at home to Newcastle. That game resulted in an FA fine for England's no.1 team for "failing to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion" after being denied a late penalty claim.

In fact, since the resumption of the Premier League, the Gunners have endured several shaky moments. In their first game back, Arteta's men went 1-0 down to West Ham but showed resilience and fought back. Away to Brighton, the league leaders had to hold on for the win despite the opposition being without three key players (Caicedo, Welbeck, and Mac Allister). Nonetheless, the team from the English capital have not lost a top-flight game since early September when they went 3-1 down at Old Trafford. Arsenal will not want to surrender this record to Tottenham.

Team news

Tottenham: Conte has been dealing with injury issues lately but that looks to be over as star winger Dejan Kulusevski is back from a muscular problem and is in contention to feature. There are doubts over both Bentancur and Richarlison but the Uruguayan midfielder could also feature. However, Yves Bissouma will likely start in midfield after recovering from a minor ankle issue. Harry Kane, the record goalscorer in North London Derbies, and Son Heung-min will lead the line.

Arsenal: While Gabriel Jesus is recovering well after suffering a serious knee injury at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Arteta confirmed that he is still far away from returning. Meanwhile, Reiss Nelson also remains unavailable due to a thigh issue. Star winger Bukayo Saka picked up a knock in the win over Oxford but should be fine for this tie while Emile Smith Rowe made his much-awaited return in that FA Cup tie and should get some minutes off the bench if the game state permits it.
