The Saudi club defied odds to cruise past the Brazilians in a frantic clash on Tuesday evening.

Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia have secured a spot in this year's FIFA Club World Cup final following a surprise win against South American champions Flamengo in Tuesday's semi-final encounter. The Asian club registered a 3-2 victory against the South American's who had a man sent off in the encounter.

Flamengo found themselves on the wrong end of two crucial referee calls in the frantic, conceding two penalty goals inside the first 45 minutes. The night's drama was instigated right from kick-off, with Al Hilal taking the lead through Al Dawsari's strike from the spot in the fourth minute. The Saudi club earned the opportunity after Matheuzinho tripped Luciano Vietto inside the box. However, Pedro managed an equalizer for Flamengo with an attempt from close range in the 20th minute.

Barely minutes left to the half time, Al-Hilal got the opportunity to fire themselves in front once more with another penalty decision going their way. This time, it was Gerson who was found guilty after stomping on Vietto in the penalty area, receiving his second booking to confirm his sending off in the process. Al Dawsari subsequently stepped up to score his second goal of the night.

Al-Hilal put the game to bed in the second half with Luciano Vietto getting on the scoresheet this time with an assist from Al Dawsari. In the dying embers of the game, Pedro managed to get on the scoresheet once more but his goal did not do much to Flamengo's chances of booking another Club World Cup Final berth.

The night's result will now see their opponents take on the winner of Wednesday's meeting between Real Madrid and Al Ahly.
