The Portuguese talent is on loan from Atletico Madrid but after a promising start to life at Stamford Bridge, some Chelsea fans are now keen to see Felix signed on a permanent deal.

Despite playing only 238 minutes in the Premier League, Joao Felix has still managed to show promise at Chelsea. In fact, some fans have begun contemplating whether the English giants should sign the Portuguese talent on a permanent deal.

The 23-year-old, once regarded as one of the hottest young attackers in the game, had been struggling for several months at Atletico Madrid but has since moved to Stamford Bridge on a six-month loan.

The goal for the former Benfica starlet was simple: to get back to his best before the summer transfer window. Despite getting sent off within an hour in his debut game, Felix has mostly impressed for Graham Potter's side and was the only player to score for the London giants so far this month, netting a lovely goal in the 1-1 draw with West Ham.

But does this mean he will stay past the summer? The player recently sat down for an interview with Eleven Portugal ahead of Chelsea's highly-anticipated trip to Tottenham and opened up about life at Stamford Bridge, dropping a hint along the way.

The attacker compared life at the London giants to his time under Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid, revealing what many already suspected to be true. In the Spanish capital, the Portuguese ace was restricted, but in England, the player feels as if the shackles have been lifted off of him.

"The position I play, and the way we play at Chelsea is different to Atletico," Felix told Eleven Portugal.

"Clearly I have more freedom to put my football into practice, to be at my best to help the team. I feel good playing here. It's just a matter of getting results and it will be perfect."

These comments will be welcomed by the Chelsea fans keen on seeing Joao remain at Stamford Bridge past the current season. However, a lot is up on the air regarding this issue, including Atletico Madrid's stance and whether they wish to sell.

Furthermore, with RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku all but destined to join this summer, it remains unclear whether the London giants will pursue a permanent deal for Felix or go on the hunt for a traditional no.9 instead.

Graham Potter's side are currently 10th in the table and will need the aforementioned Portuguese ace firing on all cylinders when they visit city rivals Tottenham on Sunday. The two-time UEFA Champions League winners are a whopping 11 points outside the top four, with Spurs holding that fourth spot, and will need to triumph over Conte's men.

Form sadly doesn't favor the visitors. In their last 15 Premier League games, Chelsea have managed only three victories, hence their position in the table. However, a win over Kane and Co. might just hand them the confidence boost they need to soar back up the standings.
