Pogba dropped from Juventus squad

Paul Pogba DROPPED from Juventus squad...just after making his comeback

March 9, 2023 By Michelle Bonsu
The French star has been out for quite some time due to injuries, but now reports indicate he may be missing out on more games for Juventus due to disciplinary issues.

Once regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world, Paul Pogba's career has hit a rough patch as of late. The 29-year-old, who was part of France's World Cup winning squad in 2018, failed to make the team for last year's tournament due to injury, and these same injury woes have kept him on the sidelines for Juventus this season.

Indeed, Pogba, who returned to Juventus for a second spell this past July on a free transfer from Manchester United, has only made two appearances for Massimiliano Allegri's side this season in what has been a frustrating year for the Bianconeri. At one point, the Turin side were looking good to possibly contest for the Scudetto, only to be slapped with a 15 point deduction that forced them back down the table.

Juventus were also dumped out of the Champions League, but have another chance at redemption as they are still involved in this year's Europa League competition. However, it's not great news for Pogba. Reports indicate that the World Cup winner has been dropped from Allegri's squad for their upcoming tie against German outfit Freiburg.

Given that he was involved in two games for Juventus recently, including their 4-2 win over Torino in the Derby della Mole and their 1-0 defeat to Roma, his exclusion is not because of injury, but rather what the club has described as "disciplinary issues".

Apparently, Pogba apparently showed up late to a meeting with his teammates on Wednesday evening, the day before their upcoming match against Freiburg, which led his manager to take decisive action.

That means that Allegri will have to look for other options for his team's upcoming match against Freiburg, and it clearly does not spell well for Pogba in what has been a very disappointing return to Turin.
