The Spanish boss is focused on winning the Premier League title, but there could be an alternative destination for him in one of the top clubs in Europe.

Arsenal may still be very much involved in the title race, but it seems that their coach has his heart on another coaching gig.

It has been a massive season for Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, taking the lead almost from day one up until today. Nevertheless, the coach could be tempted to join an European titan when the season comes to an end, according to the words uttered by Rio Ferdinand.

Speaking in his YouTube show "Vibe with Five", Ferdinand revealed that, even if he is fully into leading Arsenal to the title this season, if the chance to coach Real Madrid came knocking on his door, the boss would not hesitate to take it.

"I heard that Ancelotti, Don Carlo, the Eyebrow could leave Los Blancos this summer, and Arteta could be looking to find a way to coach Real Madrid if that happens," Ferdinand said.

Arteta, who is still under contract with Arsenal until 2025, could lead Arsenal to their first title since 2004, but his stay at the Emirates could end if things. Regardless of his intentions, Ferdinand urged the Gunners to try and hold on to Arteta, especially due to the progress the team has shown under his belt.

"Arsenal have to keep Arteta around, at all costs and no matter what," Ferdinand added.

The Gunners will be facing two key matches in coming days, with a match against Southampton and the highly-anticipated match against Manchester City being held next week. Those two games could be key to decide the fate of the 2022-23 Premier League title, and winning it could be crucial to determine if Arteta continues with the club or if he decides to leave.
