The French side will not go down without a fight when it comes to letting the footballer leave the club for free next summer.

The never-ending saga between Kylian Mbappé and PSG has seen the club taking extreme measures to try and keep their star around beyond the 2023-24 season.

Recent reports by L'Equipe state that PSG are desperate to see the player triggering the unilateral clause in his contract that would add another year to his stay at Parc des Princes, and to do that, the club has already spoken with one of Mbappé's closest relatives to force such a move, just like they did in the past.

The French publication states that president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has held talks with Fayza Lamari, Mbappé's agent and mother, to see her putting pressure on her son to extend his deal. According to PSG, Mbappé must make a decision as soon as possible so both parties can start planning their season right away, whether it is together or going their separate ways.

PSG pulled off a similar stunt last year, when Mbappé decided to snub Real Madrid's contract to extend his stay with the Ligue 1 side. Back then, his mother played a key role in his decision, mainly after negotiating a deal that made Mbappé the best-paid player in Europe.

As things stand, PSG are not ready to see their star player leaving on a free transfer next sumer, which means he will need to make up his mind and decide if he stays or if he chooses to leave. If Mbappé picks the latter, then the club will not let him leave for less than $200M.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid keep being linked to the French superstar, but Los Merengues are yet to make a move for his services until PSG admit they want to part ways with the player, something that could take place in coming weeks.
