According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Bavarian club are set to watch one of their Bundesliga-winning goalkeepers so he can fight for a spot with Inter Milan, who are also about to part ways with André Onana. The goalie that is set to leave Bayern is none other than Yann Sommer, who joined Die Roten six months ago and is not ready to be relegated to the bench after Manuel Neuer's recovery from an injury he picked up while skiing.

The journalist revealed Sommer's plans to leave the club and even added that the Swiss goalie and Bayern's hierarchy will hold talks to end their deal or to favor a move to Inter, who will pursue Sommer's signing once Onana has secured his spot at Manchester United, which should take place in coming days.

Sommer joined Bayern from Borussia Mönchengladbach in January 2023 to replace the injured Neuer. His performance with the Bundesliga winners was not as impressive as Bayern would have wanted, but all in all effective for the team's purposes, as he helped them to win the Bundesliga on the final day of the season.

With Neuer returning to the club and with a No.1 spot waiting for him, Sommer seems ready to look elsewhere for playing time, and what better team to do so than the UEFA Champions League runners-up.
