The French striker is still under contract for one year, but the club is not willing to let him leave on a free move next summer, which has sparked a tug of war between both parties.

Apparently, things for Kylian Mbappé are down to a "simple" decision that can be phrased: "You're either in or out, right now".

With the French ace ready to put an end with his relationship with PSG, it seems that the club will execute extreme measures to twist the footballer's arm and keep him around, but in case they are not able to do so, the team is ready to pull some strings to make him look bad in front of their supporters and also claiming a bit of money from a potential transfer.

A report by Le Parisien states that PSG is ready to tarnish the player's image if he keeps his idea of not extending his deal with the club, just like they did to Marco Verratti in 2017 and to Neymar in 2019. Added to that, the club are going to execute those measures as soon as Monday, the deadline they have set to make Mbappé change his mind.

The player, on the other hand, is ready to go 12 rounds with the club, as he intends to collect every single penny out of the $80M loyalty clause included in his deal with Les Parisiens. As things stand, PSG are even considering to sell the footballer for a lower fee in order to cut their losses this summer, but the player has the upper hand due to the year he has in his deal.

The only way Mbappé would not be able to collect that clause would be if he went AWOL, but such a scenario is out of the picture since he still would need to negotiate a transfer to another club, and such taunts are frowned upon by all big clubs in Europe.

Be that as it may, it seems that Mbappé's transfer saga will not go on for several days, as PSG are talking about July 17 or July 31 to end all controversy. Will the Frenchman get away with what he wants and force PSG to let him leave on a free move next season? We will have to wait for two weeks to find out.
