Christian Pulisic is set to start a new era in his career, and he could not have found a better landing spot than Milan to continue playing in top-tier football.
The player, who will be joining his third European league after stints in the Bundesliga and the Premier League, admitted that a fresh start may be just what he needed to keep thriving with his new club and with the USMNT.
"I spoke to Pioli and got a real sense that he wanted to have me, and I'm grateful to him. For me, it's a new start. I also spoke to a few members of the ownership. AC Milan are really well supported in the US; ever since I was a kid, I can remember the passion for these colours there," the playmaker stated.
Pulisic shared the reasons for taking Number 11, a jersey previously used by none other than Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
"It's a number I like. I know that a legend in the form of Ibrahimović wore it, and it's a fantastic opportunity for me. I don't want to compare myself to Ibra or fill the void left by such a great champion, but it was free and I chose it," the American footballer added.
Milan were quick to post a picture of their new No. 11 on social media.

The player then went back to his days with Chelsea, which in a way had something to do with his arrival to Milan, as several of his former teammates there spoke wonders of Milan, ending with his decision to join the rossoneri.
"My last two seasons at Chelsea were complicated; for many reasons, I didn't fully show what I can do. Now, I want to start afresh at a big Club. I spoke with Tomori, Giroud and Loftus-Cheek and have an excellent relationship with them. With a player like Giroud, there will be an excellent understanding out on the pitch," the player concluded.
