After nearly two weeks of waiting, the North London giants finally presented the English midfielder to their fans. However, a customary announcement would not suffice.

It's finally over! After nearly two weeks of waiting, Arsenal fans have finally been blessed with the confirmation they have been eagerly anticipating: Declan Rice is a Gooner.

It was on July 4th when the North London giants reached an agreement with West Ham for the English midfielder. However, the signing was not officially completed until yesterday, with the Premier League heavyweights unveiling their latest addition today courtesy of a creative video.

Just minutes before the official confirmation, Arsenal directed their loyal followers to their official YouTube page through a tweet, informing the supporters that they would not want to miss this.

Come 1 p.m. UK time (8 a.m. ET), the Gunners went live with a video showing Mikel Arteta in a meeting with his players. The Spaniard was standing in front of a whiteboard and stated that they will be going over the Nurnberg friendly, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

However, before diving into that pre-season friendly and what went wrong, Mikel starts off by announcing two new members to the Arsenal family, the first being Declan Rice, with the camera panning to the Englishman who was already in an Arsenal gear and sitting among his new teammates.

The former Chelsea academy player was then given a round of applause before being invited to give a speech, which he accepted. He spoke of his excitement and said what every fan wanted to hear: "I'm looking forward to enjoying a few trophies together". Check it out in the clip below.

Arteta's side have paid a fee north of $130M (£105M in total), thus making him the club's most expensive signing. And the positive news did not end there as the Athletic revealed that Rice has signed a five-year deal which contains the option of an additional year, meaning Arsenal have all but secured his services until the age of 30.

"I've been looking at Arsenal over the last couple of seasons and the trajectory they've been going on. Not last season but the season before, they finished fifth but you could see the style of play Mikel was implementing. Last season was an outstanding season, blowing pretty much every team out of the water with the exception of Man City," Rice said about his decision to move to the Emirates Stadium, as per the club's official website.

"With Mikel and how he works, the squad, how young everyone is, the energy around the club and also the challenge of getting Arsenal back to where they belong, that means a lot to me. I know the fans really want that. For me as a player, I've come here really hungry to have more success and to spend my best years at this great club."

Rice joins Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz as the latest signings as the Premier League heavyweights prepare for the upcoming season. All three recruits will travel with the squad as they jet off for their USA tourn, with Arteta's men taking part in the MLS All-Star Game on Wednesday live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
