The Uruguayan is still under contract with Gremio, but the North American side could still lure him to DRV PNK Stadium this summer.

Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets were unveiled as new Inter Miami players this past weekend, and as things stand, there could be more reunions coming for the former Barcelona duo in their MLS adventure.

According to reports coming in from South America, Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez apparently is the next in line to join the Herons this summer, as Gremio and Inter Miami are negotiating for the player's transfer to the North American league.

TyC Sports' journalist Gastón Edul revealed that negotiations between the Brazilian side and the U.S.-based team have progressed in the last few hours, with the only thing to be sorted out being the transfer fee to make this deal possible.

The reporter states that Inter Miami were trying to lure Suárez to the MLS in December, six months before he became a free agent. Nonetheless, both clubs have reportedly made progress in their dealings, which could see the deal taking place before the end of the month.

Suárez joined Gremio earlier this year after a brief stint with his boyhood club, Nacional. The Uruguayan has scored 16 goals in 31 apps for the Brazilian side, and while his future as a player was the matter of concern in past weeks, recent tests to his knee have shown he is still fit to play.

If Suárez ends up agreeing terms to join Inter Miami, he will have the chance to play alongside Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, who is also one of the team's transfer targets for the rest of the summer.
