The Blaugrana side needs to boost their attack after Dembelé's exit, but their coach has other priorities before they negotiate for the Portuguese player.

Barcelona fans may want the club to hire more strikers to avoid complications further on in the season, but coach Xavi Hernández has other plans before that can come to fruition.

According to reports by Spanish media outlet As, the former midfielder has snubbed the chance to sign Joao Félix right away, as he believes the team needs reinforcements elsewhere before he can think of hiring more attacking footballers.

The tactician has voiced the team's need to hire a reliable right back and an attacking midfielder. While the first spot could be sorted out if Joao Cancelo joins the club, Xavi's preferred option is seen as an impossible deal, given that the Catalan club have earmarked Bernardo Silva as their top choice.

It is said by the Spanish newspaper that Xavi is open to exploring other options, including a loan deal for Giovani Lo Celso. But until those deals are completed, Xavi will not sanction a move for Joao Félix.

The Portuguese player has snubbed quite a few offers since he returned to Atlético after a disappointing loan spell with Chelsea. The former Atlético ace has been adamant about his desire to join the Blaugrana outfit, but as things stand, it seems that he will have to negotiate with other clubs or risk being frozen out by coach Diego Simeone, who has not intention of using the player in the near future.
