The Giallorossi will be hoping to find their way after a poor start to the season, but could find things tricky against a Milan side seeking to make it three wins in three.

Milan will be looking to maintain their perfect start to the season when the Rossoneri travel to face struggling Roma on Friday evening. This showpiece event, which will pit Stefano Pioli's men against Jose Mourinho's troops not only is the first game of matchday three but arguably is one of the standout matches of this round.

The visiting side come into this game having secured a resounding 4-1 win over Torino in their first home game of the season. New signing Christian Pulisic appears to be enjoying his football again after a frustrating spell at Chelsea, and the USMNT star will be also looking to score in what will be his third consecutive appearance for his new club. Meanwhile, veteran striker Olivier Giroud continues to roll back the years with three goals and an assist meaning that he's been directly involved in four of his team's six goals so far this season.

Roma, meanwhile, have had a wobbly start to the 2023/24 Serie A campaign. Mourinho's side were fortunate to avoid what would have been an embarrassing loss to minnows Salernitana, with Andrea Belotti's late goal enough to salvage a crucial point at the Stadio Olimpico. However, the Giallorossi were no match for a surprisingly efficient Hellas Verona side and succumbed to a 2-1 loss on matchday two.

With just one point from their first two games, Roma will be keen on getting back on track as quickly as possible. However, it likely will be a lot easier said than done. The hosts will be missing several key players due to injuries, and new signing Romelu Lukaku will not be fit in time for this game. In addition, they will be welcoming a team who not only are on a five game winning streak extending to last season, but also are unbeaten in their last seven meetings against the Lupi.

Team news: Roma vs Milan

Roma: The Giallorossi are still dealing with having several key players out injured. Paulo Dybala is a major doubt after sustaining a thigh injury during the last game, and the hosts will still be missing Tammy Abraham, Renato Sanches, and Marash Kumbulla. New signing Romelu Lukaku isn't yet fully match fit and as such, fans will have to wait a bit longer to see what the Belgian international will be able to provide for Jose Mourinho's team.

Milan: As for the visitors, they will have largely a full-strength squad, with only Ismaël Bennacer expected to miss this game.
