Die Mannschaft will hope to make some serious amends following their shocking 4-1 loss to Japan in their last game.

Germany will arguably still be reeling following their shocking 4-1 defeat to Japan last week. Die Mannschaft, who were dumped out of the group stages at the 2022 FIFA World Cup after also losing to none other than Japan, are now winless in their last five games, and have been shipping goals at an alarming rate, with 13 in those five games alone.

Hansi Flick was sacked following the humiliating result and now has been replaced by Rudi Voeller, who was part of Germany's World Cup-winning squad in 1990. Voeller now has the rather difficult task of helping Germany to find their footing ahead of a tough friendly clash against France on Tuesday. It won't be easy - not only are Germany winless in their last five, but they have won just four of their last 17 games across all competitions, and none of those wins were exactly impressive, with victories against Oman, Peru, Costa Rica and Italy.

Of their friendlies played since their embarrassing exit from the World Cup last year, Germany have won just one, while losing to Japan, Belgium, Poland, and Colombia and failing to beat a Ukraine side who have had to more to contend with besides football as of late.

As such, the hosts will face a tall task when familiar foes France come to town on Tuesday. Les Bleus have been in excellent form since their disappointing loss in last year's World Cup and having won all five of their EURO 2024 qualifying games are looking set to be one of the first teams to book their ticket for next year's event. Didier Deschamps's men are just one of a few teams still to boast a perfect winning record from EURO qualifiers, and will definitely fancy their chances at extending their unbeaten run against a Germany side who are in total disarray.

Indeed, France are unbeaten in their last six meetings with Germany, with their last failure taking place during the 2014 World Cup that ultimately Germany went on to win. Barring some surprising turn of events, it's safe to say that many will assume that the visitors should be able to pick up a relatively comfortable win and heap more misery on their struggling hosts.
