The Blues have several key players out with injury and have reportedly lost another talent for six weeks.

Chelsea cannot catch a break with injuries.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, the Premier League giants have suffered another concerning injury, with new signing Romeo Lavia picking up an issue last week.

The Belgian talent is yet to make his debut for the Blues after joining from Southampton for $73M and could be forced to wait an additional six weeks before donning the London club's shirt for the first time.

The report claims that the 19-year-old went over his ankle in training last season and after undergoing a scan, damage to his ligaments was detected. As a result, the midfielder is expected to be sidelined for a month and a half.

Pochettino's side are yet to confirm this because there could be more clarity in the coming days. If the rumored timescale becomes true, Lavia could return to the pitch at the end of October.

So far, Sterling and Co. have played five games in the league and have won only once, losing two games and drawing their season opener at home to Liverpool. While Moises Caicedo is available, Chelsea could benefit tremendously from playing Lavia as the no.6 and moving the Ecuadorian ace further up the pitch.

The two-time UEFA Champions League winners have a handful of games between now and the October international break, facing Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Fulham, and Burnley in the league while locking horns with Brighton in the Carabao Cup. After the international break, Pochettino's men face a 16-day grueling period in which they face Arsenal, Brentford, Tottenham, Man City, Newcastle, Brighton, and Man United.
