The Portuguese icon scored a brace on Friday before opening up about how long he will continue playing before eventually retiring.

Cristiano Ronaldo's second season in the Saudi Pro League is going extraordinarily well. While the Portuguese icon enjoyed his debut season, scoring 14 goals in 16 top-flight outings, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner currently has a whopping nine goals and four assists in his first six league appearances this term.

The former Real Madrid attacker added two goals to his tally on Friday as he led Al Nassr to a much-needed 4-3 win over Riyad Mahrez's Al Ahli. Cristiano broke the deadlock after four minutes and scored his team's fourth, which turned out to be the winner, shortly before the hour mark to help Al-Alami club up to fifth in the table.

However, there is a big elephant in the room. With Ronaldo turning 39 in under five months, fans continue to wonder whether the end is near for the legendary goalscorer or whether the exceptional athlete has a few more good years in his locker before he ultimately hangs up the boots.

Cristiano addressed this topic following Friday's victory and made an honest and welcomed admission. While the attacker did not delve into the topic of retirement specifically, the Portuguese ace said that he is currently enjoying his career and will continue playing until his legs give in.

"I still love football. Even at my age, I love playing, scoring goals, and winning games," the 38-year-old admitted, as per Marca.

"I'm going to keep playing until my legs say 'Cristiano, it's over'. Until then I'll keep playing and helping the team."

The Portugal captain also spoke highly of the Saudi league, praising its growth since his arrival, stating: "We have great players. The league is getting better and better and the Saudi people deserve it because they are great people," commented the striker."

Fortunately, Cristiano looks like he has a few more years in his legs, meaning fans of the beautiful game can continue to enjoy his talent. Whether he can lead Al Nassr and his national team to silverware is the next important question.
