This week will see the return of club football for many women's leagues around the world.

Club football is back in full swing after the international hiatus, meaning that there will be plenty more games to keep fans entertained over the next few days.

Here's all you need to know ahead of another exciting week in women's football.

What to watch in women's football: November 2nd to November 5th

NCAA

For fans of college soccer, they will have plenty of games to follow over the next few days. Fans in the USA can follow many of these games via live streaming through ESPN+ and the ESPN App, which also provides games from the ACC Network. Additional live-streaming options also include fuboTV, while the SEC Network will also be carrying some games on TV and live-streaming is also accessible through SEC Network +.

Serie A (Women)

The latest batch of Serie A games begins on Saturday with a double header. First up will be a game featuring two struggling sides - Pomigliano and Sampdoria - who sit in seventh and ninth respectively. Then, an exciting match is on the cards as Fiorentine lock horns with Milan. The Viola will be really looking to get back to winning ways after a disappointing result from the last round, while the Rossonere will aim to try to start building up some good results to work their way up the table.

On Sunday, a match between two heavyweights of Italian women's football will be on display as Juventus battle Roma. Both teams have won the Scudetto in recent times, with Roma coming into this season as the reigning champs for the first time in their history. This game arguably is the big one of this matchday as both teams sit on 15 points and have a perfect 100 percent winning record - meaning that at least one of these teams will end up seeing that run end this weekend.

Other games taking place this weekend also include newly promoted Napoli being hopeful of finally picking up points against fellow strugglers Sassuolo, while Como and Inter Milan, who are joint-tied on 10 points, will square off as each hopes to try to put some pressure on the top two sides.

Women's Super League

The WSL resumes this weekend as Aston Villa welcome Chelsea. On paper, this looks like a heavily lopsided clash especially considering that the hosts have yet to pick up a single point so far this season while the Blues, who are the reigning WSL champions are in second place, with only Manchester City's superior goal difference separating the two sides.

Manchester City, for their part, will look to stay ahead of the chasing pack when they face Arsenal on Sunday, November 5th. Given that Chelsea are expected to pick up all three points against floundering Aston Villa, the Cityzens could start that match sitting in second spot. Meanwhile, Arsenal will look to try to keep pace with the top two sides by picking up another good result after a poor start to the season.

Elsewhere, Liverpool and Leicester will be locked in a tense battle as both sides seek to pick up vital wins. Leicester started off the season well and raced into an early lead, but have since slipped up in their last two games, while Liverpool have also experienced the same downturn after posting back to back wins to start the season.

Tottenham have been experiencing a great run lately and come into their upcoming match against Everton having won their last three fixtures. That really does not bode well for Everton, who have won just once all season and are only propped up by the worse-performing Aston Villa and Bristol City.

Finally, has been a difficult start to life in the top tier for Bristol City, who have yet to pick up a single point. They will hope that their upcoming match against West Ham will provide some kind of respite, but it may be much easier said than done considering that they have already conceded a whopping 14 times so far this season.

Manchester United's Mary Earps achieves huge milestone

Although she had to settle for an runners-up medal at this summer's World Cup and saw her team crash out of the Champions League, Mary Earps still has plenty to celebrate. The Manchester United shot-stopper, who was the subject of a record-breaking bid from Arsenal earlier this year, placed fifth at the Ballon d'Or ceremony earlier this week.

That is the highest-ever ranking for a women's shot-stopper since the Ballon d'Or decided to include female players. Prior to breaking into the top ten, the best ever result for a shot-stopper was 12th, achieved by Sari van Veenendaal in 2019 and Christiane Endler in 2021 and 2022.

Although there are less things going on between Monday and Wednesday with most games being played naturally over the weekend, there are still some happenings in the world of women's football over the next few days.

Here is all you need to know.

What to watch in women's football: November 6th to November 8th

Frauen-Bundesliga

The latest round of games in the 2023/24 Frauen-Bundesliga season concludes on Monday, November 6th as Werder Bremen welcome Eintracht Frankfurt. This game could be quite the one to watch as both teams are joint-tied on seven points and sit in fifth and sixth respectively before all games start this weekend. Depending on the outcome of some of those matches, both Werder Bremen and Eintracht Frankfurt could find themselves lower in the table even before the opening match whistle is blown.

Australia boss seemingly shuts down links with USWNT

It is no secret that the USWNT have been looking for a permanent manager since this summer. Vlatko Andonovski departed - as expected - following a poor showing by the Stars and Stripes, who shockingly crashed out during the round of 16 after a penalty loss to Sweden. With the 2024 Olympic Games just around the corner, Team USA will naturally be keen on finding the person to lead the team through that tournament and beyond, but have hit some stumbling blocks in their pursuit of other options.

According to reports, the team have now narrowed their options down to three choices: Australia's Tony Gustavsson, OL Reign's Laura Hervey, and Juventus manager Joe Montemurro. However, Gustavsson has reportedly shut down any links with the USWNT when asked if he was keen on a move from leading the Matildas to taking charge of Team USA.

"We have unfinished business to do", he responded to reporters, which has seemingly quelled speculation as to whether he will still be on the tactician's bench for Australia next summer. The Matildas impresssed at this summer's World Cup as they made a run all the way to the semi-finals - which is the best ever performance of any Australian team in World Cup history.
