Preview

The weekend might be over but the fun continues in the Premier League as two London heavyweights prepare to face off on Monday. Those teams are none other than Tottenham and Chelsea, with Spurs hosting their former manager Mauricio Pochettino and his new club in what should be an interesting showdown.

Tottenham head into this fixture on the back of scintillating form. In fact, under the tutelage of the newly-appointed Angelos Postecoglou, the North London outfit find themselves in a title race, and deservedly so, much to the surprise of many fans.

Led by the unstoppable James Maddison and Son Heugn-min, Spurs have picked up eight wins in their first 10 matches, drawing the other two. While Manchester City has temporarily leapfrogged them at the top of the table, they are on a four-game winning run following their memorable 2-2 draw at Arsenal.

With Arsenal's recent controversial defeat at Newcastle, Tottenham are now the last-standing unbeaten club in the Premier League. That will be tested by Chelsea but with the form they are in, the home side should be confident of securing the three points and the bragging rights over their bitter rivals.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have continued where they left off this season. After 10 games, the London giants have only three wins despite another mega-money spending spree, with those three triumphs coming against three of the bottom six teams in the league.

Recently, Pochettino's men threw away a 2-0 lead at home to Arsenal to draw 2-2 only to then lose 2-0 at home to Brentford the following weekend. Sterling and Co. have since bounced back, beating Blackburn 2-0 in the Carabao Cup, but the club continue to rot outside the top 10 in the league.

This will also be Pochettino's first return to Tottenham since he was sacked by the club. The Argentine boss has opened up about how emotional it will be to return to his former club on Monday, but regardless, the Argentine remains committed to securing the win.

Will the Blues secure their fourth victory of the season or will Tottenham return to the top of the table with a triumph over their bitter London rivals? Do not miss this showdown.

Team news

Tottenham: Destiny Udogie is a doubt for the hosts after sitting out their recent win over Crystal Palace. Ben Davies, meanwhile, is unavailable, meaning Emerson Royal is likely to deputize. Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon, Alfie Whiteman, and Ryan Sessegnon are all sidelined as well.

Chelsea: Ben Chilwell is yet to return while Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana, Christopher Nkunku, Trevoh Chalobah, and Carney Chukwuemeka are all sidelined. Mykhaylo Mudryk could return in time for this game while Armando Broja is expected to make the bench.
