This result brought an end to Aston Villa's four-game winning streak across all competitions but Emery's men have lost only once in their last 10 Premier League games. However, beating the Cityzens is easier said than done, and while Guardiola's men have stumbled recently, Manchester City have not lost a game since suffering back-to-back defeat at Wolves and current league leaders Arsenal.

The reigning champions are now six points behind current leaders Arsenal, though the Gunners played on Tuesday, beating Luton Town 4-3 with a last-gasp Declan Rice winner. Guardiola's men cannot afford to drop more points, and with Liverpool facing relegation-battling Sheffield United, the Cityzens could see their two closest rivals pull further ahead in the title race.
